Anderson Cooper, Rupert Grint and More Celebrities Celebrating Their First Father's Day in 2020

On April 30, Cooper surprised fans with the happy news that he had welcomed a son on April 27 via surrogate. 

Wyatt Morgan Cooper — named after the journalist's father — weighed 7.2 lbs. at birth, "and he is sweet, and soft, and healthy and I am beyond happy," the proud new dad said in his emotional announcement on CNN. 

Cooper is co-parenting his little one with ex Benjamin Maisani.

The Harry Potter alumnus became a dad on May 7, after welcoming a daughter with longtime love Georgia Groome.

"Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome are delighted to confirm the birth of their baby girl," a rep for the couple, who have reportedly been dating since 2011, told PEOPLE in a statement. "We would please ask that you respect their privacy at this very special time."

The Little Fires Everywhere star welcomed his first child with wife Jodie Turner-Smith, reps for the couple confirmed to PEOPLE on April 21. 

To celebrate Turner-Smith's first Mother's Day, Jackson wrote a touching tribute to the Queen & Slim star on Instagram. 

"Thank you for making me a father," he wrote in part. "For trusting me enough to embark on this journey together. I am humbled more and more every day by that. I love you. I love seeing you enter the pantheon of mothers. And I look forward to walking this path by your side as we nurture this little engine of joy you have blessed the world with."

The musician welcomed his first child, a baby boy named Hayes Andrew, with wife and fellow singer Maren Morris in Nashville on March 23.

Baby Hayes' middle name honors Hurd’s late brother, who died in a car accident at age 16.

The Tony winner became a dad on March 6, when fiancée Jenna Dewan gave birth to their son Callum Michael Rebel Kazee.

“It was incredible to watch the awe in his eyes of experiencing birth for the very first time, and the first time he laid eyes on our son,” Dewan recalled to PEOPLE. “He was crying the whole time and he cut the umbilical cord. Seeing his transformation of becoming a dad was one of the best things I’ve ever witnessed. It was beautiful. Birth is such a bonding experience, you’re transformed at the end of it.”

The new bundle of joy is the first child for Kazee, while actress and dancer Dewan shares 6½-year-old daughter Everly with ex-husband Channing Tatum.

The Oscar-winning filmmaker became a first-time father at age 56, when he welcomed a son named Leo with wife Daniella on Feb. 22. 

The Jerusalem Post reported that the child was born in Tel Aviv, Israel.

“Daniella and Quentin Tarantino are happy to announce the birth of their first child,” Tarantino's rep said in a statement to TMZ and E! News.

The Counting On star and wife Abbie (Burnett) Duggar welcomed their first child together, daughter Grace Annette, on Jan. 7.

Baby Grace was born at 3:21 a.m., weighing 7 lbs., 11 oz., and measured 20 3/4 inches long.

"Our lives have changed forever with the arrival of our baby girl. She is a beautiful gift from God! We are so blessed the Lord has given her to us," the couple said in a joint statement on the Duggar family website. "It’s still surreal to know that we are really parents, but it’s a great new adventure that we are excited to take on together!"

The Good Charlotte musician and wife Cameron Diaz surprised fans on Jan. 3 when they announced they had welcomed their first child together, a baby girl named Raddix. 

“Happy New Year from the Maddens!” Diaz and Madden began their announcement on Instagram. “We are so happy, blessed and grateful to begin this new decade by announcing the birth of our daughter, Raddix Madden. She has instantly captured our hearts and completed our family.”

A source told PEOPLE, “Cameron really wanted to be a mom," adding, “Cameron and Benji were hoping they would be blessed with a baby." 

The country star and wife Katelyn became first-time parents on Oct. 29, when they welcomed daughter Kingsley Rose Brown in Nashville.

“KB3 ❤️ welcome to the family Kingsley Rose Brown!!!!” Brown announced on Instagram, sharing a photo of him cuddling with his wife and their newborn daughter. 

"I grew up without a dad so I’m gonna be the best one I can be! Love you baby girl ❤️," he captioned another photo of him gazing down at his little one. 

Following a miscarriage in October 2018, Josiah Duggar and wife Lauren welcomed their rainbow baby on Nov. 8, 2019. 

Daughter Bella Milagro weighed in at 6 lbs., 9 oz and 18.5 inches long, PEOPLE confirmed.

“After a long and difficult labor, our girl arrived,” the couple said. “When we finally got to see and hold our precious Bella Milagro all the pain instantly went away. We can’t believe she is ours — she is so perfect!”

“She definitely has lived up to her name which means, ‘beautiful miracle.’ Today we are basking in God’s goodness!”

The Big Bang Theory star took on a new role shortly after his beloved series ended: first-time father! 

The actor and his girlfriend Alaina Meyer announced the birth of their son Avery on social media on Dec. 4, 2019, sharing a sweet photo of their newborn’s hands.

“With full and grateful hearts we welcome our beautiful Avery into this incredible world,” Galecki captioned the black and white snap. “Thank you for all of your love and support. ❤️❤️❤️”

The Insecure star and his actress fiancée Nina Senicar welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Nora Grace, on Nov. 8, 2019.

“And just like that our lives got a whole new meaning. Welcome Nora Grace Ellis ♥️ 8.11.2019,” the proud mom wrote beside the photo.

Ellis shared the same image on his Instagram account, adding a blue heart emoji in the caption.
