Was there ever any doubt that Allison Holker and Stephen “tWitch” Boss‘ baby shower would be a nonstop dance party?

The couple, who met while competing on So You Think You Can Dance and performed together on Dancing with the Stars, celebrated the upcoming birth of their first child together by dancing the night away at a baby shower planned by David Tutera.

“I called it the ‘No B.S. B.S. (Baby Shower),’ ” Tutera tells PEOPLE of the bash, which took place at Lot 613 in downtown Los Angeles.

“I used an abundance of Edison lights, wood accents, succulent plants and a variety of metallic colors in copper, gold, pewter, silver and bronze in the design to create a fun, downtown vibe. I wanted the event to feel fresh and unexpected, masculine yet sweet, as it was a baby shower but for a fabulously hip couple!”

The shower also featured an impressive candy display (at tWitch’s request!), complete with a vintage barber’s chair, antique trunks and a vintage mining cart.

Holker and her hubby admit the non-traditional shower “totally exceeded our expectations.”

“I don’t know many people that can say MC Lyte DJ’d their baby shower,” Holker tells PEOPLE. “David got everything right. The decor, the energy — he made our night magical! I felt like a queen.”

The couple also say celebrating their son with friends and family “was the best gift we could have ever asked for,” and Weslie, Holker’s 7-year-old daughter, was “blown away” by the funky shower.

“It was a perfect way to bring our baby into the world,” they tell PEOPLE.

The couple, who were married in 2013, announced they were expecting during an October episode of DWTS and shared that the baby was a boy shortly after.

The shower will be featured on an upcoming episode of WE tv’s David Tutera’s CELEBrations.
