Princess Love Files for Divorce from Ray J Just Months After Welcoming Their Second Child
The pair tied the knot in August 2016 and share two children
When asked about the filing, a rep for the couple told PEOPLE: 'It's a very difficult time for both Princess and Ray J and we are asking that we just let them have their privacy as they work through and deal with this very trying situation.”
The Love & Hip Hop star claimed in November last year that she would be filing for divorce after she said that Ray J left her and their daughter Melody Love "stranded" in Las Vegas. Ray J has repeatedly denied that he did so.
Just a few weeks later, the "Sexy Can I" singer was photographed without his wedding ring as he was boarding a flight at Los Angeles International Airport — though he later told PEOPLE he had simply taken it off to apply hand lotion.
"Well, first off, let me say, Princess, I love you, baby, and I’m sorry for all the things that happened,” he told PEOPLE at the time. “We cool now and we’ll work it out.”
“I know you still mad at me, but as a couple, you go through things and it just got a little bit out of hand,” he said. “Sometimes it gets out to the public and then everybody has their opinion on it, but we’re good though, as parents and as friends and as husband and wife. We just went through something.”
He added that the family had spent the Thanksgiving holiday together and that he and Princess were focusing on parenting Melody.
"Even through the ups and downs, we’re still together and we’re still listening to each other and being parents," he said.
"God is truly amazing! @Princesslove you are really a blessing!” he wrote on Instagram alongside three photos of the newborn. “To watch what you went thru to have our children is something words can’t express. I’m so proud of you. Thank you for everything! 2020 is already the best year of my life! – Here he is EPIK RAY NORWOOD.”
On Thursday, Princess shared a pair of photos of her two little ones on Instagram, captioning the sweet images, "Soulmates ❤️."
