Fans across the globe wished Mariah Carey a happy birthday on Wednesday, and Ariana Grande added her million-dollar voice to the choir!

The “7 Rings” singer posted a black and white throwback photo of Carey to her Instagram story. “Happy anniversary queen of everything,” the 25-year-old captioned the image. “Loved u then, love u now, love u tomorrow.”

Despite an occasionally uneasy relationship over the years due to constant comparisons between the two divas, Carey was clearly touched by the gesture and even shared Grande’s message on her own story.

She also got a very special — and very messy! — birthday greeting from her 7-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe. The kids celebrated, and apparently got out a little aggression, by covering their mother with silly string.

“You hate me,” she says with a laugh in a video she shared to Instagram of her children dousing her with the spray. “Silly strings shenanigans” she captioned the clip.

The birthday girl also took a some portraits alongside festive pink and purple balloons festooned with her trademark butterfly. “3.27 💖🦋 I love you so much, thank you everyone for the anniversary love 😘” she captioned one image.

The “Emotions” singer has previously mentioned that she has strong feelings about the correct way to refer to her birthday, which she prefers to call her “anniversary.”

“I don’t count years but I definitely rebuke them… I have anniversaries, not birthdays, because I celebrate life, darling,” she said in a 2014 interview with Observer.

Carey’s former husband Nick Cannon was one of the many who commented on her birthday Instagram post. “Happy Anniversary Queen! Stay Festive!” he wrote.
