Kim Kardashian Says Kanye West's Sunday Services Are a 'Healing Experience': 'There's No Preaching'
"It’s just music; there’s no sermon," Kim Kardashian West said of husband Kanye West's upcoming Sunday Service at Coachella
“I’m really excited for Kanye to perform Coachella. I’ve never been,” Kardashian West, 38, said in an interview with ELLE. She went on to reveal that, incredibly, she’d never been to the luxe desert music fest. “I’m so excited to be a part of it for the first time.”
As for the ceremony itself, she insists that there won’t be any fire and brimstone. “It’s honestly more like a healing experience for my husband. It’s just music; there’s no sermon. It’s definitely something he believes in — Jesus — and there’s a Christian vibe. But there’s no preaching. It’s just a very spiritual Christian experience.”
However, she was quick to add that you don’t have to be a Christian to experience the service.
“Kourtney’s best friends come all the time and they’re Muslim. All my Jewish friends came on Sunday; they loved it,” she says. “Everyone that comes understands it’s just a really healing experience with an amazing choir, and amazing messages about love to start off your week.
He made the big announcement in a video posted to Kardashian West’s Twitter on Sunday, in which he spoke over the intercom system of what appeared to by a privately charted plane.
“Attention 737 passengers, we’d like to make an announcement that we just booked another show,” West said in a video posted to Twitter by wife Kim Kardashian West. “We will be doing Sunday Service sunrise at Coachella.”
The Sunday Service is a West-hosted, invite-only religious event where celebrities like Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have been spotted. Although it’s exclusive, fans and social media followers can usually catch a glimpse of the service on Kardashian West’s Instagram and Snapchat stories — many of which feature sweet clips of daughter North West jamming out to her dad’s music, performed by a full gospel choir.
