To help her get ready for her WE Day performance, Kelly Clarkson got a little help from Stranger Things' Gaten Matarazzo

Kelly Clarkson may be an amazing singer, but sometimes even she needs a little help warming up.

In a promo video for WE Day — a celebration which recognizes extraordinary young Americans who are creating change within their communities and around the globe — Clarkson, 35, gets some much-needed assistance from 15-year-old Gaten Matarazzo, who showed up just in time to give her a lift on the WE Day Shuttle.

“Are you excited for WE Day?” the Stranger Things star asked.

“I am excited,” she replied, before admitting she was also nervous.

Although Matarazzo reassured her that everything would be fine, Clarkson knew she wouldn’t feel ready unless she asked her friend if he could help her out with some vocal warm ups.

Afterwards, the unlikely twosome launched into a rousing rendition of Sister Sledge’s “We Are Family,” before Matarazzo admitted he didn’t “know the rest” of the song. But he did know the words to Queen’s “We Are the Champions,” which they launched into next.

“DID YOU KNOW: @GatenM123 of #StrangerThings has an awesome voice?” Clarkson wrote alongside the clip, which she shared on social media. “See us and more awesome people on the #WEday special”

Matarazzo also shared the clip on his Instagram account, saying “When you hear the epic performance from @KellyClarkson on the #WEday special tomorrow at 7pm, you’ll know who to thank! Check it out on CTV!”

Last year, Selena Gomez hosted the third annual We Day Special, which featured special appearances by Demi Lovato, Tyrese Gibson, Alicia Keys, Alessia Cara with STOMP, Josh Gad and DJ Khaled.

The WE Day special airs Nov. 25 at 7 p.m. on CTV.
