Katy Perry celebrated her 32nd birthday in a very big way — by voting for our nation’s first female presidential candidate!
The “Roar” singer took to the polls in California on her birthday Tuesday, where she placed her vote for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
It was a double present for Clinton, who turns 69 years old today.
Perry shared video of the momentous event to her fans on Instagram — calling it “the greatest gift [she] could give [herself].”
Dressed in a patriotic ensemble, Perry was all smiles as she dropped off her sealed ballot. Her red-and-white stripped long jacket with its starred trim channeled the American flag — while she carried a far more literal flag-printed purse.
Underneath her coat, Perry kept the Americana look going — wearing blue jeans, a red belt and a white T-shirt. (After all, she loves a good Clinton-themed ensemble.)
“Happy birthday to me and happy birthday to you, HRC,” she said in the video.
She captioned the clip with an enthusiastic message of support to her “Scorpio Sister.”

“GAVE MYSELF THE BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT EVER BY VOTING TODAY” she wrote. “Wish @hillaryclinton a Happy Birthday tomorrow with your EARLY vote. Check http://www.rockthevote.com to see where your poll is. #HBDTOME #HAPPYBIRTHDAYHILLARY #SCORPIOSISTERS.”
Earlier in the day, Perry shared more of her birthday festivities with fans — chowing down on a breakfast birthday cake made entirely of rolled pieces of bacon.
The sweets didn’t stop there. She later blew out the candles on a dozen birthday donuts and a birthday cake!
Perry someone managed to squeeze a trip to Kanye West‘s concert into her very busy day.
She got down at the Saint Pablo tour stop at the Forum in Los Angeles, eating a hot dog and making faces at the camera when West called out Perry’s rumored rival Taylor Swift during his song “Famous.”
After the show, she joined friends for an intimate dinner at the h.wood group’s new restaurant Delilah, where Markus Molinari and 15 pals (sans boyfriend Orlando Bloom, who is currently in China) threw her a surprise birthday party.
“She didn’t know and thought she was just going out with a few of her besties,” a source tells PEOPLE. “It was all a complete surprise to her.”
Before the night ended, Perry let fans know that she doesn’t plan on stopping the birthday celebrations anytime soon.
“This is not birthday, this is birth-week,” she wrote on her Instagram story. “Now you know.”
