The singer revealed that he and longtime boyfriend Harley Rodriguez are officially engaged on Tuesday. Knight told Jenny McCarthy on her SiriusXM series, The Jenny McCarthy Show, that he popped the question to Rodriguez during the pair’s vacation in Africa. “We were in Africa, our parents were there — our moms were there — and I just figured this was the time to pop the question and make it official,” Knight revealed, insisting, though, that he and Rodriguez have “always considered ourselves a married couple.” Rodriguez had “no clue” about Knight’s big surprise, which he had planning for at least three weeks before the group set off on their African safari. “We were on the Zambezi river — it’s right above Victoria Falls [between Zambia and Zimbabwe] — we took a night time raft dinner, just the four of us out on the river, there was like a hippopotamus in the background,” he detailed. “It was a super moon. It was just absolutely beautiful, it was so romantic.” Although Knight added Rodriguez’s last name to his own on social media a while ago, the singer said both were dragging their feet about sharing a surname for real. “It just gets to a point where it’s like, ‘Okay, somebody’s got to do it,’ ” he told McCarthy, who is married to Knight’s NKOTB bandmate Donnie Wahlberg. Knight and Rodriguez, who is a personal trainer, first met in 2008 through a mutual friend. The exciting engagement news comes just after NKOTB announced a special summer tour with Boyz II Men and Paula Abdul on Tuesday, reported Entertainment Weekly. The tour will kick off May 12 and hit more than 40 cities.
