Kevin Jonas — the father of Jonas Brothers singers Kevin Jonas, Joe Jonas, and Nick Jonas — revealed that he's been battling colon cancer
It’s been a hard few months for Jonas Brothers patriarch Kevin Jonas.
The father of Kevin Jonas, 29, Joe Jonas, 27, Nick Jonas, 24, and “Bonus Jonas” Frankie Jonas, 16, revealed to NBC Charlotte that he’s been battling colon cancer, undergoing treatment over the past few months after being diagnosed in March.
“They were shaken,” the 52-year-old said of when he shared the news with his four sons — adding that they dropped everything to be by their father’s side. “Frankie came home from school, Nick came from L.A., Joe flew directly from Japan — they canceled their schedules, moved important things.”
Kevin underwent surgery at New York City’s Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center — his family “creating a little bit of a stir” when they walked him into the famed cancer treatment and research institution.
Though he still has to undergo chemotherapy, Kevin says his prognosis is good.

While he works through his health crisis, Kevin and wife Denise Jonas are living in his hometown of Belmont, North Carolina — where they opened their successful restaurant, Nellie’s Southern Kitchen, almost a year ago.

“It’s a thrill to be back home,” Kevin Jonas said. “I never thought I’d live in Belmont again, but you settle in with life. It’s been amazing.”
As for living away from sons Kevin, Nick, and Joe, that hasn’t been too hard. “We watched them grow up and I think it’s like all parents—you see your kids grow up and if they become good people you’re proud,” he explained.
