John Mayer Performs 'Queen of California' In Studio
The musician performs an acoustic version of the second single off of his album Born and Raised
Prior to being silenced by the return of a throat granuloma, John Mayer recorded an acoustic performance of “Queen of California” – and PEOPLE.com has a first look.
The studio version of the tune is the second single off of Born and Raised, the musician’s chart-topping fifth album.
“Being able to have a hopeful vibe about something again it’s actually about getting over stuff,” Mayer, 34, recently told NPR of the song. “Which is why I think it’s the first track on the record. It’s a very relieving breath of fresh air.”
A video for “Queen of California” was shot recently in Los Angeles and will premiere in July.
