Joe Jonas caused quite a commotion last week when he candidly revealed during a Reddit Ask Me Anything chat that he lost his virginity to actress and ex-girlfriend Ashley Greene. However, the JoBro claims he wasn’t trying to stir any bad blood.

“Life’s too short, you know?” the 27-year-old DNCE frontman told ET at the TIDAL x 1015 pre-show on Saturday in Brooklyn, New York. “I mean ultimately, I think of myself as an honest guy. There are just those moments in life where you have to be true to yourself and true to the world.”

He continued, “I’m not out to hurt anybody, but I think, ultimately, I’m just telling my stories and what I can say from my heart.”

Jonas dropped more than a couple bombshells during his Reddit AMA, but his blunt and relatable confession about losing his virginity (so long, purity ring!) to his then-girlfriend grabbed the most headlines.

“I didn’t have any condoms,” Jonas explained. “So I went to our drummer Jack’s room — who was my roommate at the time — and I demolished his room looking for them. [I] found them underneath his underwear drawer. When he came home, he thought somebody broke into his room because his whole room was demolished.”

“I was in dire need,” Joe added. “Needed to happen then and now. Safety first, kids.”

Greene responded Wednesday with a simple Instagram post reading, “Class is timeless.”
