Jennifer Lopez Responds to Alex Rodriguez Cheating Rumors: 'It Doesn't Matter, I Know What Truth Is'

Jennifer Lopez has shrugged off Jose Canseco's claim that Alex Rodriguez is unfaithful

When Alex Rodriguez popped the question to Jennifer Lopez in March, everyone from Kris Jenner to Barack Obama congratulated the happy couple.

But Jose Canseco was far less supportive. The former MLB player stirred up infidelity allegations on Twitter just a few days after the engagement news broke.

“Watching World of Dance watching J.Lo text Alex Rodriguez little does she know that he is cheating on her with my ex-wife Jessica poor girl she has no idea who he really is,” he claimed in the tweet. “I was there a few months back with her when he called her on her phone,” adding, “Alex Rodriguez stop being a piece of s— stop cheating on Jennifer Lopez.”

Lopez, 49, had been quiet about the allegations until an interview with Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club on Wednesday. Speaking to host Charlamagne Tha God, the Hustlers star seemed totally unbothered by the rumor.

“It doesn’t matter. I know what truth is. I know who he is. He knows who I am,” she said.

Soon after Canseco’s Twitter tirade, his ex-wife Jessica Canseco came to Rodriguez’s defense — and slammed her former spouse in the process.

“I have known Alex for many years and haven’t even seen him for over 5,” she said in a tweet. “I certainly did not sleep with him. I am friendly with both him and Jennifer. As for Jose he can keep playing with his Alien friends.”

The allegations have failed to cool the romance between the power couple.

“We’re just happy,” Lopez tells Charlamagne Tha God of her husband-to-be. “We’re not going to let other people come out and tell us what our relationship is. I know what our relationship is.”

A source confirmed to PEOPLE back in March 2017 that the “Dinero” singer and the baseball star had “been dating for a few weeks.” They made their red carpet debut a few months later at the Met Gala and have since become one of Hollywood’s most-talked about A-List couples.

Today, the pair are focused on raising their blended family — which includes 10-year-old twins Max and Emme (Lopez’s children with ex Marc Anthony) and Natasha, 13, and Ella, 9 (Rodriguez’s children with ex Cynthia Scurtis) — while balancing a long list of professional engagements.

Lopez recently said she and A. Rod haven’t had time yet to plan the wedding yet — and understandably so. The multi-talented artist just dropped the music video for “Medicine” featuring French Montana, and will embark on a nationwide tour this summer, all before the release of her new film Hustlers.
