Jennifer Lopez Celebrates 'Two Years of Laughter,' 'Fun' and 'Adventures' with Alex Rodriguez
"You make my world a more beautiful safe and stable place," Jennifer Lopez captioned an anniversary tribute to boyfriend Alex Rodriguez
The singer wrote a heartfelt message to Rodriguez on Twitter and Instagram in honor of their two-year anniversary, sharing a photo of them together and two solo shots of the retired MLB pro.
The final sweet image featured the couple with their blended family: Lopez’s twins Emme Maribel and Maximilian “Max” David, 10, plus Rodriguez’s daughters: 10-year-old Ella Alexander and Natasha Alexander, 14.
“Two years of laughter / Two years of fun / Two years of adventures / Of excitement of growing and learning / Of true friendship / And so much love!!” Lopez, 49, wrote on social media alongside the photographs.
“You make my world a more beautiful safe and stable place … in the midst of our ever-changing, ever moving life,” added the World of Dance judge, signing off her note with, “Te amo Macho.”
Since PEOPLE first confirmed Rodriguez, 43, and Lopez were dating in March 2017, the lovebirds have been open about their appreciation for each other, the joy of blending their families and challenges they’ve taken on as a team.
Recently, the pair went on a 10-day no-sugar, no-carb detox — and while they tackled the strict diet together, they had very different reactions to it being over.
The Second Act star admitted last Friday during a call-in to the Today show that when her challenge ended, she had three bites of oatmeal and felt “done” because much of her cravings had gone away over the course of the week and a half and “you just can’t fit as much down.”
On the flip side, “Alex went crazy,” Lopez joked. “I was dreaming about what I was gonna eat, but the truth is you get to a point where you can’t fit that much down after you remove that much of the carbs because that’s really what bloats you and gives you all that inflammation.”
Of the potential of marriage, Lopez — who has been married three times, while Rodriguez has tied the knot once before — said in a recent interview that she understands the pressure some fans have put on the couple since they went public with their romance.
But the “Waiting for Tonight” hitmaker was also quick to point out that her life with the former New York Yankees star is private, and not like the movies she stars in.
“Everyone wants a fairy tale. They all want a romantic comedy, a happy ending. We all do,” Lopez told USA TODAY in an interview published in December. “But it’s not a movie, even if you see us on Instagram or on the shows.”
She continued, “We’re happy. We’re taking it day by day. And it’s great.”
