DNCE — who recently released their new single “Kissing Strangers” featuring Nicki Minaj — will kick off the GLAAD Media Awards with a performance in New York May 6.

In addition to the Joe Jonas-fronted act’s set, Tony winner Billy Porter will be honored at the 28th annual event, which recognizes members and allies of the LGBTQ community for their advocacy work.

“Billy Porter is a trailblazer who has helped move inclusion forward for marginalized communities in theatre and music communities,” GLAAD President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis said of the Kinky Boots star, 47, who married hislongtime partner Adam Smith in January. “Whether advancing acceptance on the stage or off, he sends unabashed messages of pride to LGBTQ youth and out performers around the world.”
