Céline Dion posted a touching tribute to her late husband René Angélil on the fifth anniversary of his death.

Angélil, who was also Dion's manager, died in 2016 at age 74 after years of battling throat cancer.

The "My Heart Will Go On" singer, 52, shared a black-and-white photo of herself and Angélil holding hands with the ocean in the background.

"René, it's been 5 years already… There's not one day that we don't think about you," Dion began in a caption written in both French and English.

She continued, "We're reaching out to you now more than ever, to guide us, protect us, and continue to watch over us. And we pray that you'll shine your love on the entire world, to all those at this very moment, who are facing incredibly difficult times."

"You are in our hearts and in our lives forever. We love you, Celine, René-Charles, Nelson and Eddy xx…" the singer ended her tribute.

Dion and Angélil share three sons together from their 22-year marriage – René-Charles, 19, and twins Nelson and Eddy, 10.

Since the music manager's death, Dion has shared sweet tributes to Angélil in anniversary posts and in birthday posts for her children

Dion also has a pre-performance ritual in which she holds on to a bronze replica of her late husband's hand.

"I shake my husband's hand and knock on wood with him every night before every show," she said in a February 2018 interview with the Daily Telegraph's magazine Stellar. "Even after he's gone, I still talk to him."
