V, one-seventh of the colossally famous band BTS, celebrated his 25th birthday on Wendesday by releasing a wintry song titled "Snow Flower." The project is a collaboration with singer-songwriter, producer and rapper Peakboy.

In a message to the BTS ARMY fandom on the Bangtan Blog, V wrote, "This year feels like a stopped moment, and as the end of the year nears, I think there will be a lot of people with increased anxiety and depression. As [the mixtape] was late, I made [the song] in a hurry, feeling sorry for ARMY. For today, I hope that white flowers will come down to your hearts and feel some warm comfort and happiness."

When writing his end-of-the-year solo track, V claims he was inspired by snow and how it is essential to the holiday season. The song lyrics begins, "Hey snow/It's coming today/What do I have to prepare for?...I'll give you the world/In the cold season/You coming is the special event for me," according to a translation on The West News.

"The whole world is full of white flowers/Make our atmosphere deeper/Under a stopped street lamp/May your smile bring down flower."

Other BTS members have debuted solo tracks recently. Earlier in December, Jin dropped his own birthday single, "Abyss," while Jimin released "Christmas Love." BTS has had an incredible 2020, with albums Map of the Soul: 7 and BE landing on several best of 2020 lists, as their first English-only single "Dynamite" brought the band mainstream success.
