Just like her idol!

Days before co-hosting the 2017 Billboard Music Awards, Vanessa Hudgens gushed to PEOPLE about Céline Dion, saying the powerhouse singer “is the reason I have the range that I have.”

And it turns out, she wasn’t exaggerating. As part of her hosting “test,” Hudgens’ co-host Ludacris put the star on the spot by making her sing Dion’s hit “The Power of Love.”

Without missing a beat, Hudgens, 28 —who also showed off her singing chops last year on Grease: Live — belted out the song. After hitting all the high notes, Ludacris, 39, declared her “official” as the audience cheered her on.

Twitter also quickly threw its support behind Hudgens.

“Céline Dion is here! She’s performing tonight! I am totally freaking out,” she said seconds before impersonating her icon. “She is like, the Meryl Streep of music. I used to sing Céline’s ‘The Power of Love’ on my karaoke machine when I was like, 7.”

After Dion gave a flawless and emotional performance of “My Heart Will Go On” later in the show, Hudgens was visibly teary-eyed and yelled “I love you, Céline!” at her idol.

“I still cannot pull it together after watching Céline. Does anybody else need a tissue or am I the only one?” she added during a commercial break.

Hudgens also successfully rapped Nicki Minaj‘s verse from Kanye West‘s hit “Monster” as Drake nodded along and Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani clapped encouragingly while cuddled up together.
