Adele is currently on top of the world professionally, but if her personal life ever suffered because of it, she would happily take a step back from the spotlight.

“All of my relationships are more important to me than any tour I’ll ever do,” the singer, 28, tells Vanity Fair its December cover story. “If my relationship with Simon or my relationship with Angelo started to flounder a bit now, I would pull out of my tour.”

Continues the star: “My life is more important to me than anything I’m doing because how the f— am I supposed to write a record if I don’t have a life? If I don’t have a real life, then it’s game over anyway.”

Adele has been dating Konecki, a 42-year-old businessman, for five years. The pair welcomed their son Angelo 4 years ago.

“I have no desire to be with anyone in show business because we all have egos,” she says of finding lasting love. “He’s not threatened by any stage of my life that I’m going for, and that’s an amazing thing. It’s the most serious relationship I’ve ever been in.”

After she shot to superstardom, other men she dated “were so insecure about themselves,” she says. “They couldn’t handle it at all.”

But with a 14-year age gap between her and Konecki, “Simon is already who he is,” she adds. “I’m still becoming who I’m going to be. He’s confident. He’s perfect.”
