A Day in My Life: Go Behind the Scenes with Cats Star Leona Lewis
A Day in the Life
From "Bleeding Love" to Broadway star! On July 14, Leona Lewis, took over as Grizabella the Glamour Cat in the Great White Way's revival of the beloved Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Cats. The British star has played the classic character — and sung "Memory" eight times a week — since opening night, July 31 (pictured). Before her Broadway run comes to a close on Oct. 9, the singer shared an exclusive photo diary with PEOPLE, chronicling one September day of her busy new life as a Broadway star. Woman's Best Friend
Though she plays a feline, Lewis, 31, shares much of her time with her canine companion. "Early morning walk with Lilly around N.Y.C.!"
"Glam time!" says Lewis, channeling her character's nickname as she preps for a busy day.
Feelin' My Selfie
Hair and makeup complete, Lewis is "ready to go do press."
Doing some "quick prep before my interview," says Lewis, who spent the day with Cat Greenleaf filming a Cats segment for NBC's Talk Stoop.
Lights, Camera, Action!
"Hanging on a stoop with tea and a dog? That's my kind of interview."
"After heading home quickly, I was off to the Neil Simon Theatre for the 7 p.m. show," says Lewis. When it comes to getting into character, "It takes me about an hour for me to put my full makeup and dress on," adds Lewis, who still had time for a "quick kiss from Lilly before going onstage."
Being on the Broadway stage, surrounded by her Cats costars, has turned into "my home for the past three months," says Lewis.
