What’s better than watching Zac Efron in High School Musical? How about watching him in an actual high school musical.

While fans were disappointed when the actor, 28, was unable to attend the 10-year anniversary reunion of the beloved Disney Channel movie, Jimmy Kimmel helped ease their pain by providing the next best thing: a vintage clip of young Efron performing in a high school theater production.

The late-night host surprised Efron with a video from his teen years on Thursday night.

In the clip, Efron performs a song from You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown – and yes, it’s as glorious as it sounds.

Clad in a Snoopy costume, the Dirty Grandpa star shimmies and moonwalks his way across the stage while belting out the lyrics to a song all about dinnertime.

“Back then, that crushed,” Efron said after watching the video. “That was like a big performance.”

“That would crush if you did it right now, by the way,” said Kimmel, prompting Efron to get out of his chair and prove that he still has killer moonwalking skills.

But his dancing skills weren’t the only thing Efron showed off on Thursday.

The actor also took to Instagram to share a shirtless (!) picture of himself as he got ready for the show.

“I woke up like this,” he captioned the shot.
