You have to give the guy, um, a hand!

When Zac Efron goes to see a movie about a wounded vet, he dresses the part – right down to the flesh-colored bandage he wore on his left hand for Tuesday night’s London premiere of The Lucky One, in which he stars.

When asked what caused the injury that required him to choose antiseptic cotton as the accoutrement for a dashing three-piece suit, Efron, 24, smiled and fingered his famously enthusiastic followers.

“A fan bit me,” he said, smiling, according to U.K. reports.

Calls to the actor’s rep for further explanation about his injury weren’t immediately returned.

Still, Efron’s “war” wound didn’t stop him from wrapping the injured digits around toothsome costar Taylor Schilling or posing with fans. After all, they seemed more than happy to get a second of his time – rather than a bite of his hand.
