Now that Harry Styles has received positive reviews for his big screen debut in Christopher Nolan’s World War II epic Dunkirk, is the pop star-turned-thespian ready to jump into acting full-time?

The short answer, according to Styles, is: maybe. PEOPLE recently caught up with Styles and his Dunkirk costar Fionn Whitehead to discuss their next steps.

Would Styles make another movie?

“I’d do this one again,” he said.

Dunkirk 2?

“For sure,” said Styles.

Dunkirk: The Return,” suggested Whitehead.

“I don’t know if that’s part of the thing,” Styles quipped.

The longer answer: Making Dunkirk, about the real-life evacuation of 300,000-plus Allied troops surrounded by German forces in France, “was such an amazing experience and I feel very lucky to have been able to be a part of it,” Styles said. “The cast is amazing and obviously seeing the film now, it’s so rewarding to watch it and love it so much. I don’t think you can really think too far ahead with anything. I feel lucky to have even worked with such amazing actors on this film.”

Whitehead, a rising star from England, agreed. “I’ve no five-year plan or anything. Just taking things as they come,” he said. “I just want to keep acting, reading scripts and see what I like and what I would like to do next.”

Dunkirk is now playing in theaters.
