Tracy Morgan is back.

More than a year after a deadly car crash left him in critical condition, the 30 Rock star is headed back to the big screen.

The comedian, 46, is in talks to join Charlie Day and Ice Cube in New Line’s upcoming comedy Fist Fight, Variety reports.

Morgan is expected join the cast when production starts this month in Atlanta, Georgia, according to The Wrap.

The role will be Morgan’s first since the June 2014 car crash left him severely injured and fellow comedian James McNair dead.

The 46-year-old has slowly but steadily been making his way back into the limelight. He made an emotional appearance at the Emmy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday, earning a standing ovation.

“Thanks to my doctors and my beautiful wife, I’m here standing on my own two feet,” Morgan said when he took to the stage to present the award for best drama series.

He added: “Only recently have I started to feel like myself again.”

After his appearance, the comedian opened up about his recovery, telling reporters that part of his therapy “was seeing TV and seeing my friends.”

“I just hope my tragedy and Jimmy’s death isn’t in vain. I hope that the thing that happened to me can be prevented now – from people just dying on the road.”

Next up, Morgan will host Saturday Night Live on Oct. 17.
