Connor Cruise is a boy no longer – but he still looks like one proud son.

Tom Cruise got a special visit from son Connor on the set of his upcoming film Jack Reacher: Never Go Back in New Orleans on Wednesday, just days after the DJ turned 21 last Sunday.

The actor, 53, took a break from filming to spend some quality time with his son, and the two were all smiles as they were seen chatting on set.

The actor was dressed casually for the action flick, wearing jeans and a leather jacket while on set portraying the ex-Army investigator.

Connor also sported laid-back attire for the day, donning a pair of jeans and warm black jacket. The aspiring deejay also rocked some long facial hair and dreadlocks.

Before parting ways, the two embraced in a loving hug.

Cruise has been in New Orleans shooting scenes for Jack Reacher: Never Go Back since mid-October.

“Tom is very involved in the shooting of this film,” a source told PEOPLE. “When he is not in a scene, he is on the radio talking to the crew and staying in contact with the entire film set.”

In the sequel, Cruise’s character returns to his old unit headquarters and discovers that he’s being accused of a 16-year-old homicide.

The film, also starring Cobie Smulders, is set to hit theaters on Oct. 21.
