The new trailer is set to the tune of "Keep Your Eyes on Me," written and performed by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill
PEOPLE has an exclusive first look at a new trailer for the film, which is set to the tune of the original song “Keep Your Eyes on Me,” written and performed by the married country singers.
The clip opens with McGraw, 49, singing a verse before the two come together for the chorus.
“Keep your eyes on me, when you’re lost in the dark,” they sing in unison.
“The Tim/Faith song ‘Keep Your Eyes on Me’ that anchors the movie is brilliant, resonating perfectly with one of the film’s deepest threads: an invitation to trust,” says William P. Young, author of the novel on which the film is based.
Starring Sam Worthington and Octavia Spencer, the film tells the story of a father who finds himself questioning his beliefs after suffering a family tragedy. After receiving a mysterious letter in the mail urging him to visit an abandoned shack, he finds himself on a transformative and spiritual journey that’ll forever change his life.
McGraw also stars in the film.
“Making a movie is intensely collaborative, much more than writing a novel, and I am deeply grateful to have been invited to participate,” says Young. “To watch so many working at bringing to screen something that was only originally intended to be a gift for family and friends, is a surreal wonder. As the author, I am honored that the movie is a faithful adaptation of my book.”
The Shack opens March 3.
Starting Thursday, fans can buy tickets to a special premiere of the film taking place on March 2, which will feature a special conversation with the cast immediately following the movie.
