After he was crowned the Sexiest Man Alive of 2016, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson went on to charm Make-a-Wish recipients, amp up his tattoos, impress us with his cooking skills and continue to be an adorable partner and dad. And he’s not done with the sexy yet.

Though our tall, dark and handsome SMA will be dethroned sometime this evening when the 2017 Sexiest Man Alive is announced, The Rock took to Twitter on Monday to remind people — and PEOPLE — that he’ll always be sexiest.

“Let’s all just take a moment to recognize @people’s Sexiest Man Alive will always be the 6’5 260lbs of tattooed brown eyed soul,” he wrote.

While he can’t always be the Sexiest Man Alive (even if he is in certain staffers’ and readers’ hearts), his sexy legacy will live on in our SMA Covers Hall of Fame and pretty much every PEOPLE article about him from this point forward.
