But according to a report by TMZ, Johnson’s rant was targeted at Vin Diesel, who has starred in the franchise since the beginning and has been a producer since the film’s fourth sequel. Diesel, 49, and Johnson, 44, allegedly met Tuesday on the Atlanta set to hash out their differences, which may have stemmed from decisions Diesel has made as a producer. According to the site, it’s unclear whether the two reached a resolution. Johnson has said this was the last week of filming Fast 8, which is slated to hit theaters April 14, 2017. One costar, however, has come forward to speak out following The Rock’s rant: Tyrese Gibson. The 37-year-old star – who has been with the franchise since its first sequel – posted a lengthy Instagram defense of The Rock on Tuesday, quickly crossing himself off the list of suspects by saying “he’s my brother and we never had a problem.” The post, which has since been deleted, included video of Johnson singing to Gibson’s 9-year-old daughter, Shayla. “Why are you guys so impressionable? A man wouldn’t be singing from his heart and soul to another man’s’ little angel if he had a problem with her dad,” he wrote in the post’s caption. “DJ happens to be one of the most humble, down to earth and professional people I’ve ever worked with. More importantly, he’s my brother. We have NEVER had a problem and will never have a problem,” he continued. He also added: I will humbly say this: I’m personally not doing this for anyone but my brother Paul Walker. This franchise is not about and has never been about anyone of us individually. It’s about the #FASTFAMILY – the TRIBE.” Gibson also said that he wasn’t aware whom Johnson was feuding with, but opts to keep silent. “Let me calm you guys all the way down – I don’t know who he has a problem [with] and I don’t have any details of what those problems are. As a matter of fact if I DID know, I would tell you s—!!!” https://www.instagram.com/p/BI25NjMDPWv/ RELATED VIDEO: Vin Diesel Confirms the Release Dates for the 8th, 9th and 10th Fast and Furious Movies In Johnson’s original Instagram post, he praised the film’s “amazing” female costars – Michelle Rodriguez, Charlize Theron, Nathalie Emmanuel, Elsa Pataky and Helen Mirren – before launching his attack. “There’s no other franchise that gets my blood boiling more than this one,” he explained. “My female costars are always amazing and I love ’em. My male costars, however, are a different story. Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t,” Johnson continued. “The ones that don’t are too chicken s— to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses.” In addition to Diesel and Gibson, Fast 8 stars Jason Statham, Kurt Russell, Lucas Black, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges and Scott Eastwood.
