The Oscar race just got a little more crowded.

The trailer for The Big Short just dropped, and with its heavyweight cast and a successful run of test screenings, it’s already churning up early Oscar buzz.

Based on the best-selling book by Michael Lewis, the film tells the true story of a group of outsiders who see the 2008 real-estate crash coming, and when they bet against it, they win big. The crew hatch “The Big Short” scheme to expose a loophole in trading that gives big banks an unfair advantage over smaller investors, and while everyone else loses money, these guys beat the banks at their own game and get rich.

Try not to blink while watching the trailer: There’s a slew of A-list actors in it. Christian Bale, Brad Pitt, Steve Carell and Ryan Gosling make up the group of unlikely stock-savvy rebels. Melissa Leo, Karen Gillan and Marisa Tomei also star.

The Big Short is set to close out the AFI Fest on Nov. 12 before it opens in limited release on Dec. 11 and goes wide Dec. 23.
