VIDEO: Han Solo's Blaster Is Back in Latest 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Trailer

The new footage also shows the first meeting between new characters Finn and Rey

If you’re still worried Star Wars: The Force Awakens won’t stay true to the original Star Wars films, don’t be.

In the upcoming film’s latest trailer, released Thursday, Han Solo, played by Harrison Ford, is shown to be slinging his weapon of choice: his blaster pistol.

The new footage, which was introduced by Shonda Rhimes during ABC’s “#TGIT” lineup, also features plenty of battle scenes and shows the first meeting between new characters Finn, played by John Boyega, and Rey, played by Daisy Ridley.

Director J.J. Abrams recently spoke about mixing familiar faces like Han Solo with new characters like Finn and Rey.

“When we met Daisy Ridley, when we found John Boyega, and then Oscar Isaac and Adam Driver came aboard, we got really excited,” Abrams told Wired magazine. “And yes, Daisy and John could work together, but what happens when Harrison’s in the mix? What will that feel like? If it doesn’t spark, it’s a f–––––– disaster.”
