“Today, Snoopy, you’ve made it!”

Peanuts creator Charles M. Schulz’s son Craig congratulated his father’s iconic cartoon dog Monday as Snoopy received his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

“No one is more deserving than Snoopy to have a star on the Walk of Fame next my dad’s, and my dad would be so honored to have all you folks here to come out to wish Snoopy the best,” Craig said at the star’s unveiling. “Snoopy, you deserve it. I’m gonna give you a dog bone when we get home.”

A larger-than-life Snoopy was on hand accept the honor and to give Schulz’s nearby star a sweet cuddle.

Snoopy joins fellow cartoon characters Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny and Shrek on the Walk of Fame – as well as other famous dogs including Lassie and Rin Tin Tin.

The honor comes just before Peanuts hits theaters on Friday.
