Shia LaBeouf married his longtime girlfriend Mia Goth on Oct. 10 after nearly four years of dating.

The two exchanged vows in a non-traditional, Elvis-themed wedding ceremony in Las Vegas — a fitting choice for the pair’s non-traditional relationship.

“We’re proud of it — it was love,” LaBeouf said of the ceremony. Local officials, however, say the couple never filed a marriage license in Clark county, Nevada.

But the marriage license mystery is only the latest twist in the couple’s relationship. Throughout LaBeouf, 30, and Goth’s four-year courtship, the couple faced their fair share of ups and downs.

The pair first met in 2012 while filming Lars von Trier’s NC-17 drama Nymphomaniac: Vol. II, and Goth later appeared in a music video LaBeouf directed in 2014.

The following years were full of breakups and makeups until things came to a head in July of 2015. The pair made headlines when they were caught in a heated altercation in Germany.

Video of the argument surfaced, showing the couple yelling at each other outside of a taxicab near a hotel.

“I don’t want to touch a woman, I don’t want to hit a woman, but I’m being pushed,” LaBeouf could be seen telling a German local who intervened. He later accepted a ride from a man to the airport, saying, “If I’d have stayed there, I would have killed her.”

Around a month later, the Fury star was spotted walking hand-in-hand with actress Sasha Lane in California.

LaBeouf’s troubles caught up with him in October when he was arrested for public intoxication in Texas – one of several run-ins with the law.

Shortly after, however, LaBeouf and Goth were once again seen together, holding hands.

In March, rumors began to swirl that LaBeouf and Goth were engaged after the actress was spotted wearing a sparkler on her ring finger — but the couple never confirmed the news.
