Get a Sneak Peek at Scott Eastwood as a Bull-Riding Heartthrob in The Longest Ride
In the latest Nicholas Sparks adaptation, the actor stars as a bull-riding college student in pursuit of a new love
Have you ever wondered what it would be like if Scott Eastwood appeared at your door with a bouquet of flowers?
It might result in endless gawking from a room full of admirers. At least, that’s what happens in PEOPLE’s exclusive sneak-peek clip from the 29-year-old actor’s new movie, The Longest Ride.
Eastwood stars opposite Britt Robertson, 24, as a young bull rider named Luke who falls for a college girl recovering from a recent breakup. In the clip, the hunk greets his new love interest in true gentleman fashion at her sorority house before a date.
Adapted from the novel penned by The Notebook‘s Nicholas Sparks, the movie parallels the lives of two couples – one in the present day and the other during World War II.
California native Eastwood saw a little bit of himself in his cowboy character. “He wasn’t just a guy falling in love with this broad,” he told PEOPLE in December.
“He’s a bull rider, and I grew up going to the Salinas rodeo, so that was cool. I really connected to him. He has a little more grit,” he said.
And although the Fury actor – who is the son of actor-director Clint Eastwood – has joined the lengthy list of Nicholas Sparks heartthrobs (Ryan Gosling, Channing Tatum, Liam Hemsworth and Zac Efron, to name a few), he admits he is often puzzled by the sex symbol title.
“I don’t know what that means. That’s silly!” he said.
The Longest Ride hits theaters April 10.
