Friendly Exes: Why Scarlett Johansson and Romain Dauriac Are Still Stepping Out Together after Split

A source says Scarlett Johansson is "still friends" with Romain Dauriac as they are spotted together hours after revealing breakup

Scarlett Johansson and Romain Dauriac aren’t letting a breakup get in the way of their friendship.

The actress and the French journalist were seen together on Wednesday night at an art gallery opening Dauriac helped curate — just hours after PEOPLE exclusively confirmed they have separated after two years of marriage.

But the outing isn’t out of the ordinary for the ex-couple, as a source tells PEOPLE that they are “still friends.”

Dauriac co-curated the show, titled An Uncanny Likeness, alongside Franklin Melendez at the Simon Lee Gallery in New York City, a source close to the gallery confirms. According to the gallery’s website, the exhibition features works from a diverse group of artists that “pursue emotive distortion and stylistic idiosyncrasies that foreground painting’s relationship to the body.”

Though a source told PEOPLE that the couple has been separated since last summer, Johansson and Dauriac have been spotted spending time together several times in recent months. They most recently made an appearance together in mid-December for the grand opening party of their Yummy Pop popcorn brand’s store in Paris.

They also made an appearance in late October at another Yummy Pop event in Paris, where Johansson sported an apron and matched Dauriac’s striped shirt as she smiled alongside him.

The famously private couple split their time between the French capital and New York City through their marriage. They have a two-year-old daughter, Rose Dorothy.
