Carol actress Sarah Paulson kept her look simple yet stunning at the N.Y.C. awards show
The actress wore a black, midi-length “cold shoulder” Cushnie et Ochs dress accessorized with black strappy sandals, a small black and gold clutch and dangly Aurélie Bidermann earrings. She slicked back the front of her short blonde hair and kept her makeup simple and fresh.
Paulson, 40, attended the awards show as part of the cast of the nominated film Carol. In it, she plays the close confidante of Cate Blanchett‘s titular character, who has entered into a secret romance with a younger woman, played by Rooney Mara.
In a clip from the movie recently premiered by PEOPLE, Paulson and Blanchett’s characters share secrets of their forbidden love lives and discuss the future of Blanchett’s fictional relationship with Mara.
Carol also stars Kyle Chandler, Jake Lacy and Cory Michael Smith. It opened in limited release on Nov. 20.
