Leslie Uggams, a 72-year-old Tony winner, plays Blind Al in the upcoming superhero film, but outside of her illustrious career on Broadway and in film, she’s become infamous for a gaffe-turned-YouTube sensation.

Years ago, Uggams, performed “June Is Bustin’ Out All Over” to a huge crowd and televised audience on the Washington Mall. Sadly, she couldn’t remember the lyrics, and ended up filling out the missing verses with gibberish.

“That is a woman who does not accept failure,” a stunned Reynolds joked. “I would have just immediately urinated and had a stroke.

“When people sing the national anthem at baseball games,” he added, “I’m always like, ‘Oh no, don’t mess this up.’ ”

SiriusXM’s Entertainment Weekly Radio Deadpool special will air this Friday at 2 p.m. ET on SiriusXM’s Entertainment Weekly Radio – the same day Deadpool hits theaters.
