That Ryan Reynolds, he’s a real trooper – or at least he plays one pretty well.

On Saturday, Reynolds, 38, posted a selfie of himself looking bloody, awful and bloody awful from the set of Deadpool, an upcoming spinoff of the X-Men film franchise. Reynolds was posting to celebrate the shoot being halfway towards completion.

“Officially halfway through production on #deadpool and I feel fine,” he wrote. “The other guys? notsomuch.”

The Tweet is very on-message for the character of Deadpool, a wise-cracking, fourth wall-breaking antihero. Reynolds initially played the character in X-Men: Origins, though this film ignores that take on the character. Deadpool is slated for release in 2016.

Earlier this month, Reynolds suffered minor injuries after a hit-and-run incident with a photographer in Vancouver, where the movie is being shot.
