Ryan Reynolds gave some mighty X-Men trick-or-treaters the treat of a lifetime this Halloween.
The X-Men Origins: Wolverine star – who is set to return to his titular character in Marvel’s highly anticipated film Deadpool – suited up in his real gear fresh off the set and posed with a group of lucky kids.
“Dear Fox, stop changing timelines. It’s confusing the audience. #xmenassemble #happyhalloween,” the actor joked on Twitter.
A few days later, Reynolds posted a video of himself hanging out with the X-Men gang, suggesting they “join forces” to become a team and discussing their various super powers.
But it didn’t seem all the X-Men were on board.
“I think Deadpool may have been drunk,” says one boy.
“I really wish we could sew his mouth shut again,” adds another.
The moment was much too classic (and adorable) to not to share all over social media, so Reynolds’ wife, Blake Lively, took to Instagram to broadcast it as well.
“The beauty of Halloween – You never know who’s under the mask. @Vancityreynolds killin it in the most elaborate #Deadpool Halloween costume ever. #squadgoals,” read the caption by Lively also a comic fan, having starred opposite Reynolds in 2011’s Green Lantern.
Deadpool is set to hit theaters on Feb. 12.
