Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively have been married for three years, and in that time, Reynolds has learned that it’s okay not to share all of his wife’s obsessions.

While Reynolds, 39, has no problem completing a DIY project, he draws the line at debating décor decisions. Unlike Lively, 28, he can’t stand how time-consuming home decorations can be.

“For me, however, to do that sort of thing is like entering the seventh circle of hell,” the Deadpool actor tells PEOPLE. “I would sooner drill a hole into the top of my head and pour molten aluminum into it, because it is so infuriating to me.”

That being said, 2010’s Sexiest Man Alive is a big fan of HGTV’s Fixer Upper. However, his passion for interior design ends there.

“I’m a fan of seeing it come together in a brilliant episode of Fixer Upper, sure, but that’s because I know in one hour, everything will be done and be perfect he says,” he says.

Luckily, this is one obsession he and his wife do share. Last year, Reynolds tweeted at the show’s hosts, Chip and Joanne Gaines, and Lively was very excited when they responded.

“(Faints) (Comes to) They noticed us!” the former Gossip Girl star captioned her screenshot of Chip’s reply to her husband’s tweet.

Reynolds’ new movie Deadpool opens Friday.
