Steve Carell Receives a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame – with Ryan Gosling in Tow
Carell received support on the big day from his The Big Short and Crazy, Stupid, Love costar
Carell, 53, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Wednesday, and The Big Short costar Gosling was on hand to support his pal.
Not only have the pair costarred in the Oscar-buzzy new film, which tells the story of those who predicted the financial crisis of the mid-2000s, but Gosling, 35, also played something of a mentor to Carell in 2011’s Crazy, Stupid, Love.
Also at Carell’s Walk of Fame ceremony were The Big Short director Adam McKay, Anchorman costar Will Ferrell, Carell’s wife, Nancy, and their children, John and Elizabeth.

Carell, who recently credited New Orleans’ buttery cuisine for helping him gain 25 lbs. for his Golden Globe-nominated role in The Big Short, previously spoke to PEOPLE about Gosling’s look for the movie.
“When Ryan Gosling came out of hair and makeup for the first time, I told him, ‘Never look like that again,’ ” Carell said of Gosling’s over-the-top tan and generously gelled hair.
“It was perfect for the movie, really bad for him as a human being,” Carell added with a laugh. “It’s a creep show.”
Carell spoke more effusively about the star in November at The Big Short premiere, gushing about the hunky actor’s humorous side.
“Ryan Gosling is hilarious,” he declared . “He’s one of the those people that, he is so surprising with his choices. He’s a hard person to keep a straight face around.”
