From the cockpit of a rebel spaceship to behind the scenes of a raging battle, the universe of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is now at your fingertips.
In a virtual-reality experience exclusive to PEOPLE, you can get a 360° tour of the London set during a battle sequence pitting rebels against stormtroopers, with director Gareth Edwards narrating. And in another VR experience, Rogue One: Recon, you can fly your own X-wing fighter into action. But there are a few simple steps you’ll need to follow before transporting to a galaxy far, far away. Read on or watch the video above.
First, you’ll need VR goggles. Pick up a copy of PEOPLE’s special issue, Star Wars: The Secrets of Rogue One, on newsstands Nov. 30. Inside the issue, you’ll find PEOPLE’s virtual-reality viewer, with instructions included.
The next step is downloading the LIFE VR app on your smartphone, available on iOS and Android (visit time.com/lifevr). Once that’s installed, follow the directions to remove the VR viewer from its insert.
Next, remove the lenses and fold the viewer into a box shape. The lenses can now be placed rounded side down into the viewer. After removing the tape liner, fold the flap to secure the lenses in place.
Now you can open up any Star Wars experience on your LIFE VR app, and place your smartphone into the front of your viewer. Welcome to virtual reality!
Also make sure to tune in for the original special Rogue One: A Star Wars Story on the People/Entertainment Weekly Network (PEN).
