We don’t see him hammering away at bloody sides of beef but Michael B. Jordan trains hard in the trailer for the new Rocky movie, Creed.

Jordan plays the son of Rocky Balboa’s former rival Apollo Creed, and he tracks down Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) to ask him to be his trainer.

The seventh film in the hit franchise is set in Philadelphia, the same place the original 1976 movie was set, and the trailer features a scene where Jordan’s character, Adonis, runs down the street in an all-grey sweat suit that resembles the one Stallone wore in the first film. (Here’s hoping he also runs up those iconic steps outside the Philadelphia Museum of Art.)

Jordan’s character also quotes Balboa’s inspirational speech from the series’ most recent installment, 2006’s Rocky Balboa, saying, “A great fighter once said, ‘It ain’t about how hard you can hit, it’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.’ ”

Creed opens Nov. 25.
