The performer has been cast in Universal's upcoming movie Battleship

She performs, she writes songs – she even models. Now, Rihanna has yet another job: movie star.

The “Rude Boy” singer is taking her talent to the big screen in Universal’s Battleship, which is based on the classic Hasbro combat-style board game, reports Variety.

She’ll make her film debut alongside True Blood vamp Alexander Skarsgard and Friday Night Lights star Taylor Kitsch.

The blockbuster is set to hit theaters in May 2012.
