On Wednesday, the Oscar-winning actress revealed on Instagram that Tiffany & Co. recreated the proposal scene from her 2002 rom-com hit, Sweet Home Alabama, during a recent trip to New York City. “Um. This just happened,” Witherspoon, 39, wrote. “@Tiffanyandco just surprised me with a #SweetHomeAlabama moment in NYC??!!! Where magical moments happen. #Pinchme#NotYourAverageWednesday.” If you need a refresher, the over-the-top proposal was from when Andrew (played by Patrick Dempsey) popped the question to Witherspoon’s unsure Melanie. The showy event didn’t bode well for the pair’s relationship, but it still makes for a fun recreation. No word if Witherspoon was allowed to pick whatever Tiffany & Co. sparkler she desired (à la the film) or where Dempsey was when all the fun went down.
