All salute General Witherspoon!

Wild star Reese Witherspoon took to Instagram on Throwback Thursday to post a cute vintage photo from her middle school cheerleading days, proving she’s always been a star.

“#TBT to my days as a proud General #cheernation #firstsquad #lilgeneral,” the actress captioned the pic, referencing her time as a cheerleader for the Harding Academy Generals, class of 1990, in Nashville, Tennessee.

Little Reese was already modeling at the time – she got her first gig when she was 7 years old – and she later won the Ten-State Talent Fair at age 11. Always a good student, Witherspoon went on to graduate from the all-girls Harpeth Hall School, and attend Stanford University as an English literature major.

When Did Reese Witherspoon Lose Her Virginity?

She recently lent her Southern drawl to narrate Harper Lee’s highly anticipated Go Set a Watchman, the acclaimed To Kill a Mockingbird author’s first publication since 1960.

Witherspoon also starred in the summer buddy comedy Hot Pursuit with Sophia Vergara, and is attached to play the lead in Paul Feig’s upcoming Wish List.
