Rebel Wilson and Taylor Swift both star in the upcoming Cats musical adaptation
Wilson, 38, spoke about working with the pop star, 29, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight saying the “Delicate” singer brought a sultry vibe to her character, Bombalurina, in the musical adaptation.
“She’s incredible. She’s such a lovely girl and I personally think her cat is the sexiest out of all cats,” Wilson said.
Wilson, who currently stars in Isn’t It Romantic, plays Jennyanydots in the upcoming film, alongside Idris Elba, Judi Dench, Ian McKellen, Jennifer Hudson and James Corden.
The actress also revealed she hadn’t seen Swift’s boyfriend, actor Joe Alwyn, on the Cats set.
“I have met him, but not on set,” Wilson said.
Swift recently surprised her Cats costars with sweet gifts, as ballet dancer Eric Underwood shared on his Instagram Stories last week.
“When you come home from work with gifts! Thank you to the INCREDIBLE @taylorswift,” Underwood wrote while sharing a photo of some merchandise from Swift’s reputation tour. Actor Redmand Rance also showed off his jam-packed bag of merch on Instagram, writing “When @taylorswift gets the whole cast gift bags.”
As Swift bonds with her castmates, Wilson has been busy promoting her latest film, Isn’t It Romantic, in which she stars as a cynical New Yorker who hits her head and wakes up stuck in a world full of romantic comedy tropes.
“It works if you love rom-coms or you hate them,” Wilson told Ellen DeGeneres on Tuesday. “It makes fun of all the classic clichés that you know and love rom-com films.”
In addition to starring in it, Wilson also produced the film and helped cast costar Liam Hemsworth. “Normally people who are so hot like that aren’t funny. Turns out he’s such a legend and the funniest guy,” Wilson added. “So good move for me casting him.”
She also stars opposite Anne Hathaway as two dueling scam artists in the upcoming The Hustle.
Isn’t It Romantic hits theaters Wednesday.
