Rebel Wilson's Relationship Timeline with Jacob Busch
The pair split just months after going Instagram official in September
The Pitch Perfect star and her boyfriend Jacob Busch have split, PEOPLE confirmed on Feb. 2.
Wilson, 40, referred to herself as a "single girl" on Instagram, sharing a photo of herself along with the caption, "Lots on my mind...aghhhhhh...#single-girl-heading-to-Super-Bowl!"
Speaking to PEOPLE, a friend of the star said, "Jacob was an amazing guy but just not the one for her long-term."
Here, we've rounded up everything to know about the couple's whirlwind romance.
Busch is part of the Busch family, founders of the Anheuser-Busch brewing dynasty. He launched his own brewery in 2016, Son's Beer, alongside his friends Elliott Taylor and Carlo Mondavi.
After landing in Monaco, the couple soon made their red carpet debut with a number of swoon-worthy shots at the Monte-Carlo Gala For Planetary Health, hosted by Prince Albert II of Monaco.
Wilson later commented on her fun-filled evening saying, "Meeting the Prince with a Prince Charming by my side - what a night to remember in Monaco."
The pair met in 2019 — during Wilson's "Year of Love," in which she focused on being open to meeting new people and going on as many dates as possible — introduced by a mutual friend. When quarantine began, they stayed in touch while Wilson was in her native Australia and the Anheuser-Busch heir remained in Los Angeles. Their relationship heated up when Wilson returned to L.A.
"He's a gentleman, has very old school manners and treats her well," a source told PEOPLE of Busch at the time. "He is also very health conscious and they've been motivating each other with their health journeys."
A few weeks later, the pair went all-out on their Halloween couples' costume makeup. Wilson shared a number of photos of their spooky skeleton look to Instagram, thanking fellow Aussie Margot Robbie "for a frightastic Halloween bash x."
Soon after taking their romance public, the couple jetted off to Mexico for a tropical getaway, a trip a source told PEOPLE Busch surprised Wilson with.
The loved-up pair took advantage of the golden hour glow for a seaside photo-op.
Despite the travel restrictions due to the ongoing pandemic, Wilson has traveled a fair amount — spending time in New York City, L.A. and Australia, in addition to taking trips with Busch to Cabo San Lucas and Aspen.
During their time in Mexico, the pair enjoyed a romantic beachside movie night, surrounded by candles and snacking on BBQ food.
Still, the pair have also learned how to make the most of an at-home date night.
"Well, right now because it's gotten so cozy, I'll put on the fire, and we just eat at my house," she told PEOPLE in November. "I'm just all cozied up. We normally order in something, and then just cozy up, because it's just that time of year."
Wilson and Busch often spent time working out together amid Wilson's "Year of Health." The Isn't It Romantic star has shared a number of photos of them on walks or getting ready to exercise together on her Instagram, with captions like "We do a lot of exercise together 😜" and "Early morning exercise with JB 😘."
"This is the first guy she's met who is a match for her humor and personality. Someone who has his own life and success and isn't intimidated by her," a source previously told PEOPLE. "He's entrepreneurial and they're both very business-minded."
Back in Malibu ahead of the holidays, the couple soaked up some sunshine on an afternoon hike.
The pair spent Christmas and New Year's Eve in Aspen, Colorado, where they shared a sweet smooch against a snowy backdrop.
Wilson wished her followers "happy holidays" from her "cozy pod squad," sharing a slideshow of photos from their Christmas getaway and outside of their private plane.
