Rebel Wilson marked her milestone with a nod to her upcoming movie Cats
Rebel Wilson just found a paw-some new way to work out!
Wilson, who turned 39 on March 2, shared a series of Instagram posts documenting her fun birthday celebrations, which included taking a cake-making class and trying out a unique form of exercise — “catzercise!”
Wilson — who is starring in 2019’s upcoming Cats movie — shared two videos of the dance moves she and her friends learned during their 30-minute rehearsal. The actress and her pals performed while decked out in cat costumes, with Wilson sporting pink furry armbands and cat ears.
“My dear friends threw me a surprise birthday that ended in CATZERCISE in Beverly Hills!” Wilson wrote. “We warmed up & rehearsed for 30 minutes and then look what we created!”
The actress then sang the praises of the workout on her Instagram, writing, “The new way to get that hot Summer bod: CATZERCISE 🐱 Don’t be a pussy and try it.”
Wilson also celebrated her birthday by taking a cake-making class at Milk Bar, where she made her own celebratory birthday cake.
“And thank you again @milkbarstore for our birthday cake making class!” the actress wrote. “It was a cake walk, clearly! (Then we went to my place, ate 4 pizzas and then burnt it off at CATZERCISE!…and that’s how you do: birthday surprise day!).”
The star also recently hit a stage production of Cats, sharing a Saturday Instagram of herself posing with the cast. “This cast is INCREDIBLE!!,” Wilson gushed.
Wilson will star as Jennyanydots in the upcoming Cats film alongside famous costars including Taylor Swift, PEOPLE’s reigning Sexiest Man Alive Idris Elba, Judi Dench, Ian McKellen, Jennifer Hudson and James Corden.
The Pitch Perfect actress spoke about working with Swift, 29, in a February interview with Entertainment Tonight, saying the “Delicate” singer brings a sultry vibe to her character, Bombalurina, in the musical adaptation.
“She’s incredible. She’s such a lovely girl and I personally think her cat is the sexiest out of all cats,” Wilson said.
In February, Swift surprised her Cats costars with sweet gifts, which ballet dancer Eric Underwood shared on his Instagram Stories.
“When you come home from work with gifts! Thank you to the INCREDIBLE @taylorswift,” Underwood wrote while sharing a photo of some merchandise from Swift’s reputation tour. Actor Redmand Rance also showed off his jam-packed bag of merch on Instagram, writing “When @taylorswift gets the whole cast gift bags.”
Cats hits theaters on Dec. 20.
