Rami Malek and Bohemian Rhapsody Costar Lucy Boynton 'Seem Totally in Love': Source
Rami Malek and Lucy Boynton are growing closer
The Oscar-nominated actor, 37, confirmed his relationship with his Bohemian Rhapsody costar in early January and the two have been out and about as a couple more often as awards season heats up.
“They are very affectionate in public and seem totally in love,” a source tells PEOPLE in this week’s issue.
Malek and Boynton, 25, have been spotted holding hands and having lunch in Los Angeles, as well as spending the day with the British actress’ mother Adriaane Pielou last month.
“When they spend time in Los Angeles, they have a fun social schedule,” the source adds. “They often go out to lunch and dinner. If they are alone, they usually sit on the same side of the table to cuddle.”
Malek confirmed their romance at the Palm Springs International Film Festival’s Film Awards Gala earlier this month with a sweet shoutout to Boynton while accepting the award for breakthrough performance.
“Thank you, Lucy Boynton. You have been my ally, my confidant, you are my love,” he said. “I appreciate you so much.”
The Mr. Robot actor portrays Queen frontman Freddie Mercury in the film, while Boynton plays Mary Austin, Mercury’s former fiancée and lifelong confidant who inherited half of his estate when he died from complications of AIDS in 1991.
The film has grossed just under $1 billion in the world box office and over $200 million in the U.S. It’s earned five Oscar nominations, including a Best Actor nomination for Malek and a Best Picture nomination.
