Rami Malek had to wait almost two months before getting a chance to see a very special photo he took with Paul McCartney last year.

The actor first told Jimmy Kimmel in January about the missing picture shortly after winning a Golden Globe for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody.

Opening up about how much he’s been embraced by the late singer’s peers in the music industry, Malek, 37, shared a story of the gold star treatment he got while attending one of McCartney’s shows in London that December.

“I got taken backstage, as if I was Freddie Mercury, and then Paul goes, ‘I’m going to do my best Beatles pose, you do your best Freddie Mercury pose, and let’s take a photo,’ ” Malek shared, adding that his “fist just went straight up into the air.”

However, although the photo was taken by a professional photographer, Malek never saw the final shot.

“I don’t have the photo,” he told the late night television host, before encouraging all of the viewers at home to help him “track it down.”

And about one month later, the 76-year-old musician’s daughter Mary, herself a professional photographer, found what Malek was looking for.

On Saturday, the actor posted the image on his Twitter account, writing, “I will treasure this @PaulMcCartney. Thank you @maryamccartney.”

Bohemian Rhapsody, which has become the highest-grossing music biopic of all time — crossing $800 million at the worldwide box office in January — tells the story of Queen lead singer Mercury, played by Malek, and the band’s rise to fame.

The Mr. Robot star studied Mercury’s life and mannerisms very closely to perfect his performance, he previously told Entertainment Weekly.

“I would consistently go back to his interviews and performances just to understand the [different] sides of him,” Malek said. “Obviously, there is a very brave, brash entertainer who hits the stage. And then there is a human being who can be reclusive and lonely behind closed doors.”

In addition to picking up a Golden Globe, a Screen Actor’s Guild award, and a BAFTA, for his role as Mercury, Malek is also nominated for Best Actor award at this year’s Oscats.

Malek has also been lucky offscreen when it comes to finding love.

The actor first confirmed his romance with his costar Lucy Boynton at the Palm Springs International Film Festival’s Film Awards Gala earlier this month with a sweet shoutout to the 24-year-old actress while accepting the award for breakthrough performance.

“Thank you, Lucy Boynton. You have been my ally, my confidant, you are my love,” he said. “I appreciate you so much.”
