Rachel Weisz had a lot of fun playing the manipulative duchess of Marlborough in the Oscar-nominated The Favourite.

“My favorite moments from The Favourite are the scenes where I teach Emma Stone to shoot guns and then she becomes much better than me,” the actress, 48, revealed, referencing pointed exchanges between the two characters where Weisz is trying to establish dominance over Stone’s seemingly naive Abigail. Marlborough’s plan doesn’t pan out exactly as she thought it would.

The Yorgos Lanthimos–directed film has a total of 10 nominations. Weisz, who previously won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for 2005’s The Constant Gardener is nominated in the same category again this year, along with her Favourite costar Stone, If Beale Street Could Talk‘s star Regina King, Vice’s Amy Adams, and Roma’s Marina de Tavira.

Weisz, who appears in PEOPLE’s Oscar Portfolio in the latest issue, also took the time to answer a few questions from editor-in-chief Jess Cagle.

She says she always carries “a chapstick” in her purse for awards shows and that one performance she could watch over and over again is Ingrid Bergman’s in 1944’s Best Picture winner Casablanca. One thing Weisz will be looking forward to eating after the Oscars ceremony is “a burger.”
